Following a successful city-wide launch at the end of June, Lime Gen 3 electric scooters are now available at the BMW Group’s five Munich locations.
The four-month pilot project, intended to help provide a simple and sustainable way to navigate the campuses’ widely-dispersed real estate, has made 70 e-scooters available for use by BMW Group employees. It’s hoped that the added micromobility options will help to alleviate traffic congestion on Munich’s city streets, along with a shortage of parking spaces.
“We’re thrilled to offer BMW Group employees in Munich a comfortable and sustainable urban mobility solution,” says Jashar Seyfi, Lime’s General Manager in Germany. “The Munich market is particularly important to us, as rush-hour traffic here can be both time-consuming and exhausting for all drivers. Lime’s mission to help facilitate connection through mobility means providing a modern alternative to traditional urban gridlock.”
The new Lime scooters are a supplement to the rental bikes that have been available on Munich’s five BMW Group campuses over the past several years. Dedicated Swiftmile charging stations have been installed at strategic locations throughout the pilot service area, giving employees free and easy pickup and dropoff access for the scooters.
Lime has also provided BMW Group employees with free safety training to ensure that all riders are well equipped to navigate the business campuses on two electric-powered wheels.
